My name is Eugenia Ferreyra. I am a translator (English into Spanish), graduated from the National University of Cordoba (UNC), one of the most prestigious universities in Latin America. My main areas of work during my years in this industry have been Life Sciences, Healthcare, Education, and Finance. I'm looking to collaborate in a team of linguists specialized in Life Sciences. I have a bachelor’s degree in English from the University of Costa Rica and I am a certified translator for the Ministry of Foreign Affairs. I have extensive experience in translating documents from assorted themes, ranging from legal, and medical matters, to environmental, marketing and business material. I will deliver a professional translation since I am familiar with the different varieties of Spanish, colloquialisms and local uses for Spain and many Latin American countries. I also studied Italian and French, and can understand and communicate in both languages fairly well. As for computer skills I work on daily basis with programs such as Word, Excell and Powerpoint.

About me Growing up bilingual When I was 10-years-old, my family moved from Spain to Colorado, USA. I attended middle school there and all of my friends were American. After just 9 months no one could believe I was not born American. Learning a language this way is the most effective and efficient way to learn it. As a child, you just simply take everything in and while learning a new language, you are also learning a new culture and way of thinking. At age 13 I moved back to Spain. I was then able to cement my Spanish cultural roots. Then, when I was 15-years-old, we moved again, this time to Portugal. Here I was able to learn Portuguese at still an early age. After obtaining two University Degrees, in Law and Business Administration, and an MBA in International Business Management, I worked for several years as a lawyer, external auditor in PwC, financial controller and cost manager in several countries around the world. Throughout this time, I also worked as a freelance translator and reviser for a Law Firm for over 8 years. It then became clear to me that I was meant to be a translator and now I work as a full-time translator and reviser.

I am a freelance translator with a M.A. degree in Translation and Interpreting and I am looking for freelance assignments. I am specialized in Humanities (general, journalistic, literary) and Technical fields (industrial engineering, clean technology, environmental, automotive, lubricants), but also worked on legal and economic texts. Thanks to my postgraduate training on proofreading and editing, I care deeply about the grammar, orthography, and style of my target texts.
